Where can I buy seitan?
I was served a really delicious dish at a chinese restaurant in London that they said was made with seitan, which I haven't come across in the shops for years. Does anyone know where I can buy it? I vaguely remember making my own back in the day, but it was rather fiddly.
Thanks in advance!

You can try any Chinese supermarket, which may sell it as Mock Duck, Mock Pork or Mock Chicken. Holland & Barrett stores generally sell Mock Duck, but not the others. Or you can buy it online at Wing Yip, for instance (www.wingyip.com/page-496.html).
You can find numerous recipes for Mock Duck, Mock Pork and Mock Chicken at www.strictlyveggie.com.Last edited by StrictlyVeggie; 04-15-2012 at 08:32 AM.

Great question, and fantastic answers - thanks peops! We also wish you could find more of the non-tinned seitan on the shelves in our neck of the woods.
However, though not called seitan, these wheat-protein-based schnitzels are fantastic, and have that texture you only find in seitan products. Paprika 'Schnitzel' Steak - Vegusto UK
