Apple and Raisin Honey Squares
With a layer of sweet apples and raisins in between gorgeous golden honeyed oats, these squares are absolutely perfect with a cup of tea
Ingredients
- 225g self-raising flour
- 225g rolled oats
- 225g Kerrygold Honey Spread
- 225g sugar
- 110g raisins
- 2 tbsp golden syrup
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 2 dessert apples, peeled, cored and finely chopped
How To Cook
- Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4. In a bowl, mix together the flour, the oats and the bicarbonate of soda.
- Place a saucepan on a medium-low heat, add the honey spread, sugar and golden syrup and stir together for a few minutes until it has melted and dissolved.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir into the flour and oat mixture. Press half the mixture into a greased and lined square tin.
- Mix together the apples and raisins then sprinkle over the mixture in the tin and spread the remaining oat mixture on top.
- Place in the oven and bake the biscuits for about 30 minutes until golden, then leave to cool for a few minutes before cutting into squares and placing on a wire rack to cool. www.facebook.com/KerrygoldUK
